About Us
Horse Broke Farms is owned and operated by Marla Tinney and her family. The Tinney's live on site at their 21 acre facility. They have 5 of their own horses as well as a friendly donkey that you may see wandering and asking for scratches. Marla started riding and competing in 4H and horsemanship classes as a kid in Illinois where she grew up. Up until the past 4 years, Marla and her family have been pleasure riders, going on vacations often with the horses, hauling around to different states to camp and trail ride. Marla and her daughter began to competitive trail ride shortly after, as well as participate in local parades and travel to barrel racing jackpots. Marla has enjoyed competing in barrel racing as well as teaching her daughter the ropes of barrel racing in the past 4 years, but has also started practicing and learning classical dressage and jumping in the past year. Her foundation on western showmanship and horsemanship have set her up well to begin this English riding journey. Marla also has started her own home-grown filly, Roux, under saddle and plans to take her up the ranks on barrels when she is ready. Marla and her daughter have also been certified in equine first aid. Marla has an extremely diverse and humble background which makes her exceptional at caring for horses and putting your horse's needs first. Boarder horses are taken care of just as Marla cares for her own horses. Marla is also always looking for learning opportunities and ways to improve, so do not hesitate to reach out and ask questions or give suggestions! Contact us below or book your tour today!
